The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (FHP) was founded in 1991 and is located in the north of Potsdam. The range of subjects includes information science, engineering, socio-cultural and design courses. In addition, there is a broad portfolio of transfer and continuing education programs. Social and Educational Sciences
Department 1 was the first department at University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and is also the largest department with approximately 1,000 students.

The different courses of study and focal points of Department 2 are interlinked by a cultural and (cultural) design claim.
Civil Engineering
Faculty 3 has been training young people as civil engineers for over 30 years and has seven laboratories that are used for research and study.
Design
Department 4 is characterized by the close integration of its interface, communication and product design and European media studies programs.
Information Sciences
Department 5 is known for its study concept of partially integrative training of archivists, librarians and documentalists - also called the "Potsdam Model".
