    New DFOS Infrastructure for Research and Knowledge and Technology Transfer in Civil Engineering

    The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is expanding its metrology research infrastructure in Civil Engineering. With a new infrastructure for Distributed Fibre Optic Sensing (DFOS), strains and temperature changes can in future be continuously measured along optical fibres.

    International Perspectives on Education for Sustainable Development (IPoESD)

    Thinking about education for sustainable development on an international scale and helping to shape it from a student’s perspective: The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is working with partners from Kenya and Europe to establish new structures for sustainable teaching.

    As part of the FHP research cluster "Social Space - Education, Participation, Community", the project (2026 - 2028) funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) is investigating the field of independent performing arts as a key player in transformation and participation processes.

    Former Kirchmöser Fire Station – Architectural Survey, Potential Uses and Refurbishment Plan

    This master’s thesis examines the refurbishment and conversion of the former fire station in Kirchmöser. The building, which was constructed between 1915 and 1917 as part of the former gunpowder factory, is now a listed building and is in significant need of refurbishment due to having stood empty for many years.

    On the load-bearing behaviour of closed bonded dowels under static and non-static loadsload in steel composite construction

    The research project investigates the advantages of closed bonded dowels and closed bonded dowel bars (CCD) and is intended to prepare further research projects in this field.

    This MA's thesis assesses the integrity and sustainability of energy-saving construction measures in building refurbishment, using a case study, in order to derive recommendations for the planning of energy-efficient refurbishments.
