KIBA specialist group on information literacy
The KIBA Information Literacy Specialist Group is an association of university lecturers in information sciences. It serves the exchange of information on important content and development lines in the field of teaching information literacy and offers a forum for cooperation in the training of librarians in this subject area. The KIBA specialist group on information literacy promotes dialogue with representatives of the library profession through cooperation with the joint committee for information literacy of the library associations VDB and DBV.

Association of German Archivists (VdA)The Association of German Archivists (Verband deutscher Archivarinnen und Archivare e.V. – VdA) represents the interests of the German archives sector as a professional and specialised association. The promotion of professional exchange and further education in the archives sector is a particular concern of the VdA. To this end, the VdA cooperates with the Archival Studies degree programme of the Department of Information Sciences in various working groups.

Interdisciplinary Research Network Digital Humanities in Berlin (ifDHb) / Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and HumanitiesThe University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is a partner of the Interdisciplinary Research Network Digital Humanities in Berlin and cooperates with the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. One aim is to establish the DH network in Berlin-Brandenburg. Workshops and teaching exchanges are planned in cooperation with the Department of Information Sciences.

Competence network for long-term archivingThe Department of Information Sciences is a member of the long-term archiving competence network and work package 5 (AP5), which develops teaching materials, workshops and seminars on digital long-term archiving. As part of this collaboration, student project groups create e-tutorials on digital long-term archiving, in the spirit of "by students for students".

Working group "Archive pedagogy and historical education" (ABP)The Archives Education and Historical Education Working Group in the Association of German Archivists addresses archives education issues, methods and approaches to historical education. The working group cooperates with the Archival Studies degree programme of the Department of Information Sciences. The annual conference of all archive educators took place in 2010 at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam on the topic of "Moving Images – Films as Historical Sources".

German Institute for Standardisation, Standardisation Committee for Libraries and DocumentationThe Standards Committee for Libraries and Documentation (NABD) at the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN e.V.) is responsible for national standardisation for the creation, publication, indexing, preservation, communication and use of documents and data in the information sector, particularly in the archive, library, documentation, museum and publishing sectors. ARGUS Potsdam e. V.In collaboration with the ArbeitsGemeinschaft für Umweltschutz und Stadtgestaltung Potsdam e.V., two interdisciplinary project groups designed the exhibition "MACHT BESSER! Potsdam Citizens' Movements '89" and the DVD of the same name as a medium for school and extracurricular project work. Brandenburg Historical Committee e.V.The non-profit Brandenburg Historical Committee, founded in 1996 under the patronage of the Minister President of the State of Brandenburg, conducts and promotes scientific research into Brandenburg's regional history through relevant projects and other endeavours as well as their publication. The committee's state history network brings together research activities on the history, art history, archaeology and monument preservation of the state of Brandenburg and brings together around 50 active university lecturers, archivists, librarians and museologists.

German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ)The German Research Centre for Geosciences is part of the Helmholtz Association and researches the geological, physical, chemical and biological processes of the "Earth system".
The Department of Information Sciences cooperates with the library and its director, Roland Bertelmann, on various projects for students in their sixth and seventh semesters. In the current project, tutorials on working with information and data are being created for doctoral students on the Telegrafenberg. -

House of Brandenburg-Prussian HistoryIn addition to its permanent exhibition, the House of Brandenburg-Prussian History at Neuer Markt presents changing special exhibitions. In the winter semester 2009/10, a project group from the Archival Studies degree programme at the Department of Information Sciences designed a Services section of the exhibition "SIBYLLE. Fashion Photography and Images of Women in the GDR", which was presented from the 13th of May to the 22nd of August 2010. Further co-operation projects are planned.

Historical Committee of WestphaliaFounded in 1896, the committee develops and promotes historical publications in a similar way to the Brandenburg Historical Commission. Together with students on the Archival Studies degree programme, historical source editions (including text sources from the 16th century) have been compiled and published.

Historical Archive of the City of CologneSince the collapse of the archive on the 3rd of March 2009, there has been close cooperation between the Department and the Historical Archive of the City of Cologne and subsequently a cooperation agreement on the reconstruction and rebuilding of the holdings. Since 2009, the Department of Information Sciences has been actively involved not only at the site of the collapse, but also in the asylum archives, where the recovered archive materials are currently located.

Hoffbauer Foundation PotsdamThe Hoffbauer Foundation has been building, operating and supporting church educational institutions as well as social facilities and projects in Berlin and Brandenburg since 1901. In the 2009/10 winter semester, a student project group began cataloguing the Hoffbauer Foundation's archive. The collection mainly comprises administrative documents and private documents of the Hoffbauer founding family, plans and photos.

Berlin State ArchiveAs the central state archive of the state of Berlin, the Landesarchiv Berlin preserves the written records of Berlin authorities and institutions and makes them accessible to the public. The Archive degree programme of the Department of Information Sciences cooperates with the Berlin State Archives in teaching and research.

Literature Workshop BerlinIn the elective course "Digital Archives", a project in cooperation with the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin was launched in the winter semester 2010/11. As part of this project, the students are developing a concept for digitally archiving the diverse objects that the Literaturwerkstatt has been collecting for 20 years now: Poetry, poetry films, audio recordings of readings and images from events such as the annual Poetry Festival. The film "Der Conny ihr Ponny", which won an award at this year's Poetry Festival, is an example of the archived objects. The concept is based on the publication "trustworthy archives" produced by nestor and the future DIN standard 31644 and will be continued in the summer semester 2011.

LWL – Archive Office for WestphaliaAs an institution of the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL), the LWL Archive Office for Westphalia advises the archives of the member authorities as well as private archives on all archival and technical issues. It also maintains its own archive as well as the Westphalian Literature Archive and looks after the archive depot of the Vereinigte Westfälische Adelsarchive e.V. The Archival Studies degree programme of the Department of Information Sciences cooperates with the Archive Office in teaching and research, in particular interns are supervised here.

Museums Association of the State of Brandenburg e.V.A long-term cooperation agreement is planned between the Museumsverband des Landes Brandenburg e.V. and the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam with the aim of integrating Brandenburg museums and museum projects more closely into teaching and research.
Research-based learning in museums and training in the areas of collection cataloguing and exhibition design are among the aims of this cooperation. Specifically, there has been a project cooperation with the Potsdam Museum in the area of database-supported cataloguing of collections since 2009. In future, interdisciplinary cooperation is also planned within the FHP's Interflex programme. Centre for Contemporary History ResearchThe Centre for Contemporary History Research (ZZF) is an interdisciplinary institute for research into German and European contemporary history based in Potsdam. The ZZF cooperates closely with neighbouring universities in Berlin and Brandenburg. Kampffmeyer millsKampffmeyer Mühlen GmbH, part of the holding company VK Mühlen AG, has commissioned the Department of Information Sciences to research, compile and digitise historical documents relating to the development of the company. As part of the project, the students travelled throughout Germany to the relevant state, municipal and business archives, conducted interviews with contemporary witnesses and visited the mill sites that still exist. The project work is carried out in cooperation with the company's marketing department.
