On 26th of January 2026, interested parties will have the opportunity to get to know the Bachelor's degree programmes, teaching staff and students from the Design Department.

What you can expect on the Bachelor's degree programme info day

At the information day of the Design Department, you will receive important information about the degree programme and the aptitude test for the Bachelor's degree programmes in Interface Design, Communication Design and Product Design, you can ask questions and get to know the teaching staff.

There will also be a portfolio consultation with regard to the artistic-design aptitude test, which is mandatory for admission to the degree programme. Even if you do not yet have a portfolio, you can take part in the counselling session and obtain valuable tips and advice from professors.

Before the information day, you can find out about the requirements for portfolios and the aptitude test on the Bachelor's degree programme pages. However, please do not hesitate to bring specific questions and concerns to the info day!

The event will take place in hybrid form – both on site at the university and online in the form of a video conference on Zoom. This means you can take part in the introductory speech, the information session on the design degree programmes and the digital portfolio consultation online. We recommend that you dial in in good time to participate via Zoom. You will also have the opportunity to get to know students and the campus during the in-person event.

Registration is not required.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Design Department

The Design Department is characterised by the close integration of the Interface, Communication and Product Design and European Media Studies degree programmes, a cooperation project with the University of Potsdam. This networking enables a unique, interdisciplinary educational profile with a strong focus on research and practice, which is reflected in numerous projects, exhibitions and co-operations every year. Close cooperation with business and cultural institutions as well as a lively exchange between teaching staff, students and international universities characterise the learning atmosphere.
