Enrolment Procedure at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam

Admission to the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam takes place through matriculation (enrolment). In the case of degree programmes with restricted admissions, enrolment takes place after the successful application with the notification of admission. For degree programmes with open admissions, you can apply directly for enrolment. When doing so, always pay attention to the relevant deadlines.

Enrolment information

Enrolment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme must be applied for in the university portal MyCampus. In degree programmes with restricted admission, enrolment can only take place if admission has been granted after prior application .

After entering the information required for enrolment, an enrolment application is created. This application must be signed and submitted to the university of Applied Sciences Potsdam by post together with the documents required for enrolment.

Enrolment period

  • The enrolment period for degree programmes with open admissions can be found in the application information on the respective degree programme page.
  • For degree programmes with restricted admission, you will be informed of the corresponding deadline in MyCampus with the admission notification.
  • For enrolment/change of university to a higher semester, the deadline for application is 15 January of the year for the summer semester and 15 July of the year for the winter semester.

Documents to be submitted

  • a simple copy of the university entrance qualification or the university degree certificate or declaration of submission of all degree-relevant achievements prior to commencement of the Master's programme.
  • Payment slip/confirmation of payment of the semester fee and, if applicable, other tuition fees
  • If applicable, certificate of exmatriculation from the last university attended
  • If applicable, further documents according to the enrolment application form
  • Photo for the issue of the Campus.Card
  • Health insurance: At the latest at the time of enrolment, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam requires an electronic report from your health insurance company regarding your insurance status. Please contact your statutory health insurance company in good time. Your health insurance company will then send the required notification to the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. Please quote our sender number H0002156.

Multiple Enrolment information

If you are already enrolled as a main student at another university in the state of Brandenburg or the state of Berlin in accordance with Section 15 Paragraph 2, you can apply for another course of study at the FHP. The application and application for admission takes place under MyCampus.

When you enrol, you indicate that you would like to enrol multiple times and also submit the following document with your application for enrolment:

  • Certificate of enrolment from the first university (main student at another university in Berlin or Brandenburg) for the semester applied for

With the enrolment certificate from your first university, you prove that you have paid the semester fees and are exercising your membership rights there.

The enrolment certificate must contain the following information:

  • course of study,
  • completion goal,
  • number of semesters,
  • Number of university semesters and
  • Number of vacation semesters.

FAQ on admission & enrolment

Enrolment at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam consists of two parts:

  1. Online enrolment on the MyCampus university portal.
  2. Sending the enrolment application by post together with the relevant documents.

In order to enrol in a degree programme with restricted admissions, you must have applied in advance, received a place on the programme and accepted it by the deadline. The matriculation deadlines apply to all degree programmes. You can find the deadline that applies to you in the MyCampus University Portal and in your enrolment application.

Applicants to a DoSV degree programme will find their notification of admission on the hochschulstart.de portal after their offer of admission has been accepted. It will be visible there approx. 4 days after acceptance. All other applicants can download the letter of admission from the MyCampus university portal. It will not be sent by post.

Last year's admission limits are published on our website. You can compare these values with your HZB grade and waiting time to estimate your chances. Please note, however, that these are only approximate values, as the admission limits vary depending on the number of applications! Therefore, apply for a place at university in any case!

Applicants for a DoSV degree programme can view their current ranking on hochschulstart.de after submitting their application. You can find more information on this in the online help of hochschulstart.de.

If you have not yet sent your enrolment application by post, you can print out your enrolment control sheet in MyCampus-Hochschulportal (you will find it on the overview page, in the section "Immatrikulationsanträge"), make a note of the desired changes on it and send it to the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam by post together with your enrolment application. The staff will make the desired changes for you.

If you have already sent your documents, please contact bewerbungs-service@fh-potsdam.de to make changes. Be sure to include your application number!

Basically, you should make sure that you do not miss the deadlines for accepting the place and enrolling.

Therefore, if you cannot access your e-mails and/or the MyCampus university portal during the allocation process or if you are unable to send documents by the deadline, you should contact the Application Service in advance and request an extension of the deadline if necessary.

If you have applied for enrolment and do not wish to take up your studies after all, you can apply for revocation of your enrolment and repayment of the fees.

To do so, please send an e-mail to bewerbungs-service@fh-potsdam.de, stating your application number.

If you are already enrolled, please note the information under "How can I revoke my enrolment?". If you will not be taking up your place of study due to a service (military service, civilian service, etc.), you can also have your offer of study deferred for the next year. In this case, please note the information under "Can I take part in the current application procedure even though I am on duty? What should I bear in mind?".

The procedure for returning your place varies depending on the status of your application and whether you have applied for a DoSV degree programme. Please note that the return of a place cannot be cancelled!

Procedure for DoSV programmes

Your application is in the status "Offer of admission available" or "Offer of admission currently not possible":

  1. Log on to dosv.hochschulstart.de
  2. Switch to the "Meine Bewerbungen" tab
  3. In the section "Abgegebene Bewerbungen", select the action "zurückziehen".

Your application is in the status "Immatrikulation beantrragt" or "Immatrikulation in Bearbeitung":

  1. Log in to MyCampus University Portal.
  2. Click on "Zur Bewerbung" to go to the overview page
  3. In the "Immatrikulationsanträge" section, click on "Platz zurückgeben".
  4. Confirm with "Ja"
    Note: the return of your place will not be displayed on hochschulstart.de!

Procedure for all other Bachelor's or Master's degree programmes

Your application is in the status Zulassungsangebot liegt vor" or "Zulassungsangebot aktuell nicht möglich":

  1. Log in to the MyCampus university portal.
  2. Click on "Zur Bewerbung" to go to the overview page
  3. Click on "Abgegebene Anträge" in the "Antrag zurückziehen" section
  4. Confirm with "Ja"

Your application is in the status "zugelassen", "Immatrikulation beantragt" or "Immatrikulation in Bearbeitung":

  1. Log in to the MyCampus university portal
  2. Click on "Zur Bewerbung" to go to the overview page
  3. Click on "Platz zurückgeben" in the section "Abgegebene Anträge"/"Immatrikulationsanträge".
  4. Confirm with "Ja"
  5. If you have already sent your enrolment documents, please also send an e-mail to bewerbungs-service@fh-potsdam.de.

Preferential admission

If you are entering a service this year, you can still participate in the current application process. If you receive an offer of admission, you can defer it in the MyCampus university portal. You will receive a corresponding deferral notice. In the coming year, you will automatically be offered a place at university. Please keep the admission notice.

Service is considered to be

  • Military service
  • Civilian service
  • Voluntary service
  • Service as a development worker
  • Care or nursing of a natural/adopted child under the age of 18 or a relative in need of care for up to 3 years.

Application

If you have had your place of study deferred due to a period of service and would like to claim your admission, please submit your regular application via the MyCampus University Portal by the application deadline, at the latest by the second award procedure which will be carried out after the end of the period of service. Submit your already received letter of admission and proof of service with your application.
