Bunte Handabdrücke auf einer Wand

The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam stands for diversity. Our aim is to ensure that the path to university, to a successful degree or in the fields of work is fair, regardless of origin or gender. Find out more about our programmes and find the right support for your individual situation.

Individual development opportunities & flexible offers

At the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, we want to support our students, staff and lecturers and, in addition to individual development opportunities, offer flexible programmes that are ideal for combining family and studies or career. We work against disadvantages and discrimination. University members with disabilities help to shape everyday university life.

Compatibility of study, work & family

The FAMteam offers individual counselling and support services to help parents at university, expectant mothers and fathers as well as family carers to balance their studies, career and family.

Find out more about the services offered by the FAMteam and our family centres.

Equality & Protection against discrimination

We promote diversity and actively work against discrimination. A central aspect of equality work is to consider the consequences of every decision equally for all genders.

In addition to the diverse services offered by the Equal Opportunities Office we offer you support and counselling if you have experienced discrimination or questions about anti-discrimination.

Overcoming barriers, realising potential

University members with health impairments and disabilities benefit from numerous support services.

Counselling on Accessibility during studies and compensation for disadvantages in examinations and participation in working life can be obtained from our representative for university members with disabilities and the representative for severely disabled persons.

Contact persons for more equal opportunities

Anti-Discrimination Officer

The Anti-Discrimination Officer offers all members of the university individual counselling and support in the event of experiences of discrimination.

However, she is also the point of contact for those who are not directly affected but want to help prevent discrimination at FHP in the future.

Representative for University Members with Disabilities

The Disability Officer advises students with physical, mental, sensory and learning disabilities.

In terms of the right to participate in education, he advises and supports students with individual compensation for disadvantages and helps to ensure that inclusion is practised at the FHP.

Family Officer

The Family Officer advises and supports students in reconciling family and care work with studying or working at the FHP.

She is the contact person for all matters relating to pregnancy, children and care and coordinates the childcare facilities on campus.

Equal Opportunities Officer

The Equal Opportunities Officer is all about gender equality. She is the point of contact for issues relating to gender discrimination and gender diversity.

In addition to various forms of support, her services also include individual counselling, including in cases of harassment and sexualised violence.

Get there, get in, get along

We want to improve orientation on our campus. What is missing, what do you need? The signposting system at our university is to be updated, so we are asking everyone what they need.

In the week from the 13th to the 17th of May, we collected your needs and wishes for better orientation on campus and online.

Attractive and accessible − aspects of an accessible university

What could a university for all look like? As part of the exhibition "Attractive and accessible - aspects of a barrier-free university", students presented ideas and individual solutions for an accessible, barrier-free campus as part of the 3rd Inclusion Days of the City of Potsdam in May 2023.
