All disciplines at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam are working on numerous research and development tasks. Special focus is placed on the combination of research and teaching as well as on professional cooperation across disciplinary boundaries.

The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam was founded in 1991 with the aim of pursuing a consciously practice-oriented and interdisciplinary orientation, which results in lively cooperation between the study programs. As a small university of applied sciences with approximately 350 employees and about 3,600 students in five departments, it develops a wide range of research and transfer activities in the fields of social and educational sciences, urban | building | culture, civil engineering, design and information sciences. These are characterized by a particular focus on application and specific methods. Applied research is also expressed to a large extent in research and project-oriented learning formats.
