The Master's in Digital Information Management teaches information science expertise and methods for designing processes, systems and strategies. Acquire individual problem-solving skills
During your studies, you will develop the skills to analyse, design and further develop complex information processes. You will learn how to select suitable tools, manage information professionally and prepare it for specific target groups. At the same time, you will deal with current issues in information science, learn to make well-founded decisions and take responsibility for data-intensive services in organisations. In this way, you will become experts who drive innovation and actively shape digital infrastructures.
The degree programme encourages independent work as well as collaboration in interdisciplinary teams. You will carry out your own projects, document and present your results professionally and reflect critically on your work process. You will learn to solve complex challenges creatively and contribute your expertise convincingly.
Learning in a personalised atmosphere
Within three or four semesters, you will learn fundamental scientific, ethical, organisational, legal and technological aspects and methods of information management such as
- Data, information and AI literacy,
- research data management,
- process management and
- programming and data analysis.
In practice-orientated application seminars, students put what they have learnt directly into practice with partners from science and industry. The degree programme enables individual study with a personal atmosphere between students and lecturers.

Study tracks at a glance
In order to enable individual study models, the Master's degree programme in Digital Information Management offers two different study tracks: Study Track DI3 and Study Track DI4.
Study track DI3 with a standard period of study of 3 semesters
Admission requirement: A first professionally qualifying university degree in accordance with § 10 Para. 5 Sentence 1 BbgHG with 210 ECTS credit points in a relevant or related subject area or, if you have not yet completed your studies, an application for admission in accordance with § 10 Para. 6 BbgHG. German language skills at C1 level are required. Admission to the summer semester.
Standard period of study: The standard period of study for the DI3 study track is 3 semesters for full-time study and 6 semesters for part-time study.
Start of study: The DI3 study track starts in the summer semester.
Study track DI 4 with a standard period of study of 4 semesters
Admission requirement: A first professionally qualifying university degree in accordance with § 10 Para. 5 Sentence 1 BbgHG with 180 ECTS credit points in a relevant or related subject area or, if you have not yet completed your studies, an application for admission in accordance with § 10 Para. 6 BbgHG. German language skills at C1 level are required. Admission in the winter semester.
Standard period of study: The standard period of study for the DI4 study track is 4 semesters for full-time study and 8 semesters for part-time study.
Start of study: The DI4 study track starts in the winter semester.

Dates & requirements for your application
Digital Information Management is offered in the winter semester as a four-semester study track DI4 with 120 ECTS credit points and in the summer semester as a three-semester study track DI3 with 90 ECTS credit points. Both study tracks can be studied part-time.

Admission requirements
- First professionally qualifying university degree (at least 180 ECTS credit points for the DI4 study track, at least 210 ECTS credit points for the DI3 study track) in a subject relevant to the degree programme (e.g. archival science, library science, information and data management, information science) or, if you have not yet completed your studies, an application for admission in accordance with Section 10 (6) BbgHG.

How to apply!
Do you fulfil the admission requirements? Then you have the opportunity to submit an enrolment application for the summer semester(study track DI3) in the MyCampus university portal of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam from the 15th of January to the 1st of March.
Following online enrolment, upload all required documents as PDF files via the upload portal. Enrolment is only valid once all documents have been uploaded in full and on time.
Documents to be submitted
- University degree certificate(s) or current transcript of records with the ECTS credit points earned to date and the grade earned to date, if the degree programme has not yet been completed
- Proof of health insurance from the statutory health insurance scheme for students or proof of exemption from the statutory insurance obligation via the electronic student registration procedure
- Payment receipt/confirmation of payment of the semester fee and other fees, if applicable
- Certificate of exmatriculation from the last university attended, if applicable
- Photo for the issue of the Campus.card
