Overview

The "Study and Network Abroad" project is designed to expand the international study, teaching and research activities of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in a targeted manner, while also ensuring they are firmly embedded within the university structure. The project focuses on strategic partnerships with universities in Kenya, Japan, Taiwan and the USA, as well as European network cooperation.

The project embeds international teaching and research formats in the curricula of the degree programmes and professionalises internationalisation in administration, teaching and research. At its core are concrete mobility, teaching, research and networking measures, flanked by a university-wide revision of internationalisation strategies and targeted personnel development measures.

Goals

The project's objectives are:  The expansion and consolidation of international networks and strategic partnerships anchoring international teaching and research formats in degree programmes, strengthening the international skills of students, teaching staff and employees further development of the structural and strategic internationalisation of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam

Measures

Revision and implementation of an internationalisation strategy

The existing internationalisation strategy of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam will be reviewed, further developed and aligned for the coming years. The aim is to establish a strategic and operational foundation for the internationalisation of the entire university by 2028.

Expanding international partnerships and embedding online teaching formats in the curriculum

Existing international collaborations will be extended to other departments. In this context, joint online teaching formats are being developed, tested and anchored in the curricula of the degree programmes in order to strengthen international teaching cooperation in the long term.

Further development of personnel qualification

The focus is on the structural further development of personnel qualification, in particular through exchange and further training formats in the DACH region (Austria and Switzerland). The content of  an "International Competence" certificate will be revised and developed further; the acquisition of the certificate is part of the programme.

Establishment and further development of sustainable European partnerships

European partnerships with universities in England and France are being established and intensified in a targeted manner. The aim is to develop long-term, sustainable cooperation structures in teaching, research and networking.
