The research subjects of the cooperation between the Fürst-Pückler-Museum Park and Branitz Palace Foundation (SFPM) and the Department of Information Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam are the processes and workflows for the digitisation and sustainable digital presentation of the museum collection.

Within the framework of workshop and project seminars, students of the Department of Information Sciences deal with the above-mentioned objects. This follows the overarching focus of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam "Research-based learning – teaching research". The cooperation enables very practice-oriented research-based studies; due to the cooperation model, SFPM is involved in the project-related seminars. The solution proposals developed in this context can thus be directly incorporated into the further development of the processes in the SFPM.

In addition to the PC pools and seminar rooms, the archiving workshop and the digitisation laboratory of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam are available to the students as research infrastructures. In addition, practice-related excursions to the SFPM are offered.

In terms of content, the research focuses on the museum collection of the SFPM. This includes the furnishings and collection objects that go back directly to Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau (furniture, arts and crafts, stained glass, graphics, paintings, archives), the Pückler-Callenberg Library and a comprehensive art and cultural history collection with a focus on the 19th century (including the Carl Blechen Collection of the City of Cottbus as a deposit). Whether the institutional collection (research library, photo library, archive of building records) can be included in addition to the museum collection depends on the development of the process.
