Innovation management in cooperation with Radio Teddy
For the first time, the FLEX elective course "Innovation Management: Development of Knowledge-Intensive Business Ideas" was organised in cooperation with Radio Teddy. The students gained valuable insights into the creative and realistic development of viable business ideas.
The FLEX elective course "Innovation Management: Development of Knowledge-Intensive Business Ideas" was offered for the first time in the winter semester 2024/25. Lecturer Enrico Sass gained Radio Teddy as a cooperation partner for this course. The students investigated how a future family radio station could be designed by conducting interviews with target groups and radio presenters and developing innovative concepts.
As part of the multidisciplinary FLEX programme, students from three different departments formed teams that focused on various topics, such as child-friendly advertising, AI-based radio formats and promoting social engagement.
On 13th of January 2025, the teams presented their results in pitches to the cooperation partner. It emerged that the family radio of the future could be a mixture of traditional broadcasting and customisable streaming content. The focus often shifted to AI-supported personalisation to address the interests of all family members. Interactive tools and voice control could make everyday life easier, while human moderators create trust. The students developed recommendations for financing and social media strategies and argued in favour of gender-neutral, value-oriented advertising that is not primarily consumer-oriented.
