Cross-University Knowledge and Technology Transfer in Collaboration With the Industry: An Overview of the Transfer Fund Projects
Houses insulated with autumn leaves and an interactive citizen science project on the mood in the region – applied research can be this close to everyday life. Since 2025, the InNoWest Transfer Fund has been supporting innovative transfer projects and applied research in collaboration with industry at the three partner universities: HNE Eberswalde, University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and TH Brandenburg. We have summarised the interim results for you.
Practical projects in north-west Brandenburg
Below you will find an overview of five exciting projects that have been funded by the InNoWest Transfer Fund. Our poster also explains the basics of funding through the Transfer Fund.
Transfer Fund project NoVa Leaves: The NoVa Leaves project is exploring and testing the potential for using autumn leaves as a building material, using the production of sustainable insulation boards as an example, in a collaboration between regional industry partners and universities.
- Project period: 01/06/2025 – 31/05/2026
- Project participants: Dr. Otto GmbH, Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences (THB), Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE)

Transfer Fund Project StimmungsEcho – Citizens Doing Science: How are you feeling? At several locations across three cities, the interactive research project StimmungsEcho invites people to take part by asking them about their emotional state. The responses are visually translated in real time into an overall picture of public sentiment and made available for research purposes.
- Project period: 15/06/2025 – 30/01/2027
- Project participants: O-H-V and Schwedt | Uckermark field offices, Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development
- Poster: InNoWest Transfer Fund project ‘StimmungsEcho’
Transfer Fund Project Talking Tree – An interactive system for knowledge transfer on environmental topics: Trees are increasingly being affected by the consequences of climate change and other environmental factors. To raise awareness of this issue, the Talking Tree project is bringing a tree to life at the Wittenberge State Garden Show.
- Project period: 01/04/2026 – 31/12/2026
- Project participants: Landesgartenschau 2027 Wittenberge gGmbH, Prigniz branch, Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development
- Poster: InNoWest Transfer Fund Project ‘Talking Tree’
Transfer Fund Project: Digitalisation of Sustainability Reports in Germany and the EU in accordance with CSRD/ESRS: Businesses , policymakers and academia require reliable information that enables them to track, verify and compare the implementation and impact of reporting requirements. The project on the digitisation of sustainability reports addresses this need by establishing a structured database that strengthens knowledge transfer and research.
- Project period: 01/04/2026 – 31/12/2026
- Project participants: Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development
- Poster: InNoWest Transfer Fund project – Digitisation of sustainability reports
Transfer Fund Project: Biodiversity Walls Made from Reetweller Clay: To what extent can walls made from Reetweller clay be used as habitats by insects, and in particular by wild bees? The ‘Biodiversity Walls’ research project is investigating this question by installing four biodiversity walls in the Prignitz region in collaboration with regional partners from the fields of nature conservation and academia, and by examining their ecological impact.
- Project period: 01/02/2026 – 01/10/2026
- Project participants: Zentrum für Peripherie e.V., Bosch&Partner GmbH, University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development
