Transfer Professors Present their Projects at the Potsdamer Tag der Wissenschaften 2026
Transfer professors from various departments provided insights into current research and practical projects.
On the 9th of May 2026, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (FHP) successfully presented itself at the Potsdamer Tag der Wissenschaften (PTdW) on the Campus in Golm of the University of Potsdam. With the FHP Mobile and four of our transfer professors in tow, the university offered the interested public exciting insights into current research and practical projects.
At the centre of this year's presentation was the university's innovative strength, represented by four transfer professors: Prof Dr Peter Heisig, Prof Silvia Knüppel, Prof Dr Armin Schachameier and Prof Dr Ulrike Wuttke. Since 2024, the FHP has been bringing expertise from the university directly into practice in order to drive innovation and knowledge transfer in the region. The professors gave the numerous visitors fascinating insights into their current practical projects - from pioneering knowledge management and future textile technologies to digital spaces for reflection in Social Work and strengthening digital sovereignty in research.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Heisig, Professor of Information and Knowledge Management
In the knowledge management transfer project, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Heisig deals with the question of how organisations can systematically create, secure and use knowledge and experience. The aim is to develop conducive framework conditions and practical tools that support the conscious handling of knowledge in organisations.
Prof. Silvia Knüppel, Professor of Product and Perspective
The "FHP Textile Lab at the Brandenburg Textile Museum Forst" project will create a permanent satellite of the FHP Textile Lab as part of the redesign of the museum. The project combines research, teaching and museum practice by providing insights into future textile technologies and actively involving students in production, archiving and exhibition processes.
Prof. Dr Armin Schachameier, Professor of Theories and Methods of Social Work
The transfer project "Gestalt in Social Work" explores central practical situations in Social Work from a Gestalt perspective and develops practical strategies for action. Digital, hybrid and analogue reflection spaces as well as 3D video recordings of counselling situations promote innovative teaching methods and the exchange between science and practice.
Prof. Dr Ulrike Wuttke, Professor of Library Science - Strategies, Service Development and Science Communication
The project "T.R.A.C.K.S. - Training on Analytics, Compliance, Knowledge, and Security" examines the effects of non-privacy-compliant tracking on scientific websites on digital sovereignty and academic freedom. Together with the Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin, formats are being developed to provide information on protective measures and visualise alternative digital infrastructures.
The many interested enquiries and in-depth discussions at the FHP Mobile showed how valuable and important the direct exchange between applied research, business and urban society is. The stand was flanked by campus specialists who were on hand to answer questions from prospective students.
