How do migrants experience the arrival process in Brazil - and how do professionals accompany them along the way? The podcast "Entre Caminhos" ("Between Paths") was developed by social work student Marina Volpatto from the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam as part of her internship in São Paulo. With personal voices and professional insights, she invites us to look at migration from different perspectives.

Between Paths - A podcast about migration and social work in Brazil

What does it mean to settle in a new country? How can professionals support migrants when they arrive? And how can political structures be actively shaped? The podcast "Entre Caminhos - Perspectives on working with migrant women in Brazil" invites you to get to the bottom of precisely these questions.

The project was developed by Marina Volpatto, a student on the Social Work programme at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, as part of her internship at Missão Paz in São Paulo. The result is a three-part podcast series that combines personal experiences, professional perspectives and political analyses. The cooperation partner was WebRadio Migrantes, a project that puts migrant voices centre stage. The podcast is in Portuguese, a German translation is available as a PDF.

Listening to, understanding and reflecting on migration

The podcast offers a sensitive and multi-layered insight into the reality of migration in Brazil. Three interviewees - a migrant, a social worker and an advocacy expert - report on the challenges, opportunities and structural framework conditions of migration work, each from their own perspective.

The aim of the project is to promote dialogue about migration, make good reception practices visible and create spaces for active listening. The project was realised as part of the internship supervision module and is an example of how student initiatives can address social issues and make them accessible to a broad audience.
