General questions

The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam offers academically sound and practice-oriented continuing education programmes for professionals. These are aimed at specialists and managers, career changers and people who are looking for new or further professional orientation.

Our courses are aimed at individuals from the social, cultural, educational or administrative sectors, as well as organisations wishing to provide their employees with targeted further training.

The range of further training courses extends from short seminars, certificate courses and part-time study programmes to individually tailored in-house training courses.

Yes,the Centre for Further and Continuing Education (ZEW) also offers in-house training for all the courses on offer. In addition, there are individual topics that are offered exclusively in-house. Further information can be found under in-house training courses or directly from Fedor Zatchinaev.

Login and registration

You can find suitable further training courses on our website under further training programmes. You can search by keyword or use the free text search.

Registration takes place online via a form on the respective course page. Alternatively, you can register by e-mail. After registering, you will receive a confirmation and further information.

Subject-specific admission requirements apply, which can be found in the respective course programme.

The participation fee must be paid on time in accordance with the invoice. If an employer is covering the costs, this must be stated at the time of registration.

Yes, this is possible. Please use the regular registration form on the respective course page.

Personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR. Data processing takes place e.g. for course organisation, contract fulfilment, marketing (e.g. newsletter), etc. No data is sold to third parties and consent can be revoked at any time.

Fees, cancellation conditions and waiting lists

Yes, there are participation fees for our training courses. The fees are shown on the respective course pages.

Yes, alumni of the FH Potsdam receive a 5% discount. Employees of cooperation partners and certain target groups receive discounts depending on the agreement. Details can be found on the course pages.

You will automatically be placed on the waiting list and will be informed by e-mail as soon as a place becomes available.

Please refer to our conditions of participation for the cancellation conditions. As a rule, there are no fees up to a certain deadline, after which cancellation fees may apply.

Cancellations must be made in writing. Up to 21 days before the start: only 100 € fee. Later: 50 % of the fee or remaining payment if no replacement participant is found.

The UAS Potsdam may change, postpone or cancel a course for important reasons (e.g. low number of participants, cancellation of lecturers). Courses that have already been paid for will be refunded - further claims are excluded.

Certificates and certificates of attendance

If you successfully complete the course, you will receive a qualified certificate from the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences.

At least 90% attendance is required for a certificate of attendance. Proof of performance must also be provided for a certificate.

Yes, you will receive ECTS credits for many of our continuing education programmes upon successful completion. The exact number depends on the scope of the respective course and is shown on the course page.

The ECTS procedure (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) ensures that course content is generally comparable. As a rule, universities recognise the ECTS credits awarded. However, the final decision on recognition always lies with the host university. We therefore recommend that you contact the relevant university in good time.

Yes, in principle, it is possible for continuing education credits to be recognised towards a subsequent degree course if ECTS credits have been awarded. Recognition takes place following a review by the respective university and is based on the content and scope of the work completed. Whether and to what extent credit transfer is possible is ultimately decided by the university at which the degree programme is to be completed. We recommend that you clarify this at an early stage with the student counselling service at the respective institution.

TThe quality of our training programmes is ensured through regular evaluation. Participants are given the opportunity to provide feedback on the content, teaching methods and organisation of the programmes. These results are continuously incorporated into the programmes' ongoing development, helping to ensure their quality and relevance. In addition, an academic director usually supervises the courses.

Yes, around 90% of our participants report that they are still able to apply the knowledge they have acquired on the course in their professional context during the training programme. Our courses are designed to be practical and closely aligned with the requirements of the respective professional fields.

Funding opportunities

Depending on your individual situation, you can take advantage of funding such as education vouchers, education bonuses or employer subsidies. You can find an overview on our website under funding opportunities.

Solo self-employed persons may be able to have their participation subsidised. For details and requirements, please refer to the funding opportunities page.

Organisation

For face-to-face events, we recommend travelling by public transport. You can use the discounted Deutsche Bahn event ticket.

As a rule, public car parks are available in the vicinity of the event venue. The FH Potsdam also has its own car park which participants can use.

There are hotels and guesthouses in the neighbourhood.

No, there is no canteen or campus catering on Saturdays at the FH Potsdam. However, there are numerous catering options in the immediate vicinity of the campus - including bakeries, a pizza restaurant, Asian and Turkish cuisine - which are within easy walking distance.

No, participants are not covered by student insurance. The FH Potsdam assumes no liability for personal injury or property damage.

Family friendliness and diversity

Yes, the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences is certified as a family-friendly university. Many continuing education courses are flexible in terms of time or organised as online courses so that they are easily compatible with family commitments. Further information can be found under Family.

Yes, we use gender-inclusive language in our course descriptions, documents and communication with participants. The FHP recognises this in Section 9 of the Basic Regulations. This stipulates that gender-inclusive language is used at the FHP in "general correspondence and in legal and administrative regulations". Further information can be found under Equality.

Digital learning environment and tools

Yes, we use Moodle as a learning platform for many training courses. There you will find materials, tasks and organisational information about the course.

In addition to Moodle, we also use MS Teams, Zoom and Cisco Webex for online sessions. The tools used will be announced for each course.

Information and communication

Yes, you can subscribe to our newsletter and receive regular information about new offers, developments and events in the field of continuing education.

You can already register for the next planned course and note in the 'Remarks' field of the registration form that you would also like to be on the waiting list for the current course. If a place becomes available, the next person on the waiting list will automatically move up.

The Central Institution for Continuing Education (ZEW) is responsible for questions regarding the procedure, organisation and content of continuing education courses in the area of certificate courses.
