The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam has launched the FHP Health and Well Being Project “FHPgesund 2.0” in collaboration with Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), which will run until 31th of May 2029. The aim of the project is to specifically promote and sustainably improve the health and wellbeing of students.

The FHP Health and Well Being Project “FHPgesund 2.0” project is designed to develop a comprehensive student health management system and embed it within the university’s structures. The focus is on promoting students’ physical and mental health, as well as the sustainable integration of health-promoting measures into everyday university life and the curriculum. Over a three-year period, pioneering measures for student health will be implemented, further strengthening the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam as a health-oriented educational institution.

Strong health management for students
A wide range of formats is available to support students, including workshops, lectures and digital resources. The focus is primarily on topics such as stress management, time management and healthy lifestyles. In addition, a flexible module on health is being developed which can be integrated into the degree programme and offers students ECTS. Techniker Krankenkasse is contributing its many years of expertise in the field of health promotion and prevention to the project. The launch of the project will be accompanied by a goal-setting workshop, during which the key points and future measures will be defined.

FHP Health and Well Being Project “FHPgesund 2.0” is aimed at all students at the university and places particular emphasis on part-time students, international students and students with special needs. In addition, specific programmes are being created for students interested in starting their own businesses, who often face particular challenges.

Sustainability and long-term integration
The aim is to achieve a sustainable impact beyond the project’s duration and to embed health in the university’s culture for the long term. Ulrike Wygasch-Otte, the project manager, emphasises: “With the FHP Health and Well Being Project FHPgesund 2.0, we are not only creating short-term initiatives, but also laying the foundations for a health-oriented campus life that has a lasting impact.” This integration is to be permanently ensured through the incorporation of the Flex module and close collaboration with partners such as the Techniker Krankenkasse.
