How do I find the Career Path that suits me after Graduation?

Now nothing stands in the way of your dream job: workshop with psychologist and author Julia Barden to help with career orientation after graduation.

Many students are faced with the question shortly before graduating: Where should they go professionally? Today, the options are more varied than ever – a wide range of fields of activity, employment or self-employment, large company or small start-up, flexible working or fixed structures? There is often not just one suitable career, but various paths that can suit your own interests and strengths. In order to make an informed decision, it is important to know yourself well: your own interests, strengths, values and goals.

The workshop with Julia Barden will cover the following topics:

  • Self-reflection: What are my strengths, values and career goals?
  • Analysing your CV: What experiences did I particularly like? (e.g. from my studies, internships, student jobs or working student activities)
  • Explore career opportunities: Which industries and work environments suit me?
  • Defining my dream job: What general conditions are important to me?
  • First steps towards realisation: How can I specifically search for suitable jobs?

The special thing about this workshop: Theory meets practice! Participants will reflect on their career to date, focussing on which areas have appealed to them most in their studies and practical experience. Proven methods and practical exercises are used to develop concrete ideas for the future career and gain clarity about the next steps. There will also be enough time for individual questions.

The event is a free offer from the career entry programme Work@Heart and will be held via Zoom. Registration via e-mail to 360gradzukunft@fh-potsdam.de. The link will be sent after successful registration.
