Memory and photography. Images as an universal language

Workshops - Community Lab* - Talks - Exhibition
Photography preserves memories and encourages conversation. However, for many profound biographical and historical events, there are no images, or the ones that exist have been lost. Creating images with artificial intelligence opens new doors. Images can be generated based on prompts, i.e. language. This enables us to create images of the past independently of the event. Photography has never been able to do that before. Or has it?
In collaboration with students from the Department of Design, the Presence Centre Luckenwalde (Präsenzstelle Luckenwalde) invites all interested parties to explore these new possibilities.
The programme and exhibition are being realised as part of the Community-based AI Lab* project by Christian Berkes, Tina Steiger, Marta Domurat-Linde and Prof. Wiebke Loeper.
