Reading with Rebekka Endler and presentation of the Gender Prize 2025 of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam

Rebekka Endler reads from her book "Witches, Bitches, It-Girls. Wie patriarchale Mythen uns bis heute prägen". The Gender Prize 2025 of the FH Potsdam will be awarded during the reading.

In her new book "Witches, Bitches, It-Girls", author, journalist and podcaster Rebekka Endler takes readers on an anecdotal search for the causes of patriarchy throughout human history.

She looks at canonisation in art, Romanticism, so-called normality and feminist waves, cancel culture and trans hostility - and asks:

  • What makes so many women today still dream of a Prince Charming to save them?
  • Why do so-called tradwives advertise a life as a housewife and mother?
  • What is behind the wave of mummy bloggers and what is the function of images of women such as witches, bitches and it-girls?

In a humorous, quick-witted and combative way, she demonstrates how we all keep the patriarchy going day after day - and how we can still change it if we understand and attack the system behind it.

The reading forms the framework for the presentation of the Gender Prize 2025 of the FH Potsdam.

Participation is free of charge and possible without registration.
