Training: Breastfeeding is healthy - promoting breastfeeding and healthy nutrition in the first year of life
Why is breastfeeding so important, and how can professionals provide parents with the best possible support? The online training course on 07/10/2025, led by speaker Anja Bier, will provide up-to-date information, practical tips, and opportunities for professional exchange.
Breast milk is the natural and optimal nutrition for infants. Breastfeeding promotes the health of the child and mother in many ways, both in the short and long term. Although all families and professionals are aware of this, fewer and fewer children in Germany are being breastfed. Professionals can promote breastfeeding and a healthy diet in the first years of life by providing competent knowledge and encouragement.
In order to improve the framework conditions for breastfeeding and reduce existing uncertainties among parents and professionals, the State Coordination "Early Help", the State Coordination "Network Healthy Children", the Brandenburg Midwives Association in cooperation with the "Network Healthy into Life" (Federal Centre for Nutrition, BZfE) would like to offer one-day training courses for breastfeeding multipliers free of charge again in 2025. The aim of the training is to ensure that you as a professional feel well equipped to support parents in all aspects of breastfeeding.
In the training course, the latest scientific and research findings on successful breastfeeding and healthy nutrition in the first year of life are presented and explained using many practical examples. Standardised messages and practical tips for parents will be conveyed. In dialogue with each other, possibilities for support and encouragement can be discussed and transferred to the work in your district. At the same time, joint strategies and perspectives for breastfeeding support in the group will be developed.
