BAU.WERK.BERICHT. – Guest lectures

As the programme title suggests, this series of lectures is about work reports. Projects are presented that deal with the issues of sustainable and climate-neutral construction. Whether in terms of the materials used and the constructive and technical solutions, or their exemplary use of existing building fabric in the form of a conversion, extension or addition to existing buildings.

The focus is not only on the conceptual design ideas underlying the examples shown and their urban, spatial and design expression, but above all on their constructive elaboration and structural realisation.

This special focus has the following background: construction is the focus of the design task in the 6th semester, to which this lecture series is primarily directed. The aim of the semester is the constructive elaboration of the design concept.

The aim is therefore to provide students with the basics to be able to do justice to the issues of sustainable building in their "design and construction", in the choice of the supporting structure, the construction and the materials used.
