Erasmus + KA131 - Blended Intensive Programme

The Erasmus programme "Learning from Pompeii (View from the North). The ancient urban form for the future city" aims to investigate - and redefine - the relationship between form, typologies and spaces of the ancient city. Students first examine the city's history and selected case studies in a virtual component, both literary and drawing, and develop a contemporary design for the future city on this basis.

The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) combines online meetings with face-to-face design activities, which will take place at DiARC (Dipartimento di Architettura of Università degli Studi di Napoli "Federico II") from the 23rd to the 29th of July. Starting on the 16th of May, the kick-off meeting and the launch meeting will present the archaeological site of Pompeii as a project area, its morphology, its typologies and the technique of analogy in the design process. The programme will conclude with an exhibition of the students' work in Naples.

Six universities are involved: the Università degli Studi di Napoli "Federico II" (host institution, representative: Prof. Federica Visconti), the RWTH Aachen University, the Dortmund University of Technology, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, the Eindhoven University of Technology and the Graz University of Technology.
