University of Applied Sciences Potsdam impresses in the CHE Ranking 2025

The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (FHP) has once again achieved very good ratings in several degree programmes in the current CHE University Ranking 2025. The Bachelor's degree programmes in Architecture and Urban Design, Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering I Dual are impressive in the categories of study organisation, supervision and practical relevance.
The ranking, which was published in the new ZEIT Study Guide 2025/26, is considered the most comprehensive university ranking in the German-speaking world. It combines objective data with feedback from students - and this is precisely where the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam was able to shine.
Architecture and Urban Design: Creative work in an inspiring environment
Architecture students particularly praise the excellent support from teaching staff and the practice-orientated design projects The technical equipment, creative studio work and range of excursions were also rated above average. The opportunity for creative development, the good atmosphere and the close contact with lecturers make the Potsdam School of Architecture a popular place to study.
Civil Engineering: Structured course of study with good facilities
The degree programmes in civil engineering score highly with an excellently organised course structure, optimal group sizes and smooth access to courses. The provision of learning materials and the use of digital platforms were also rated by students as high-quality and user-friendly.
Civil Engineering I Dual: Exemplary integration of theory and practice
The dual study programme was also praised by students: with top scores in the organisation of studies, the equipment of courses and the quality and accessibility of teaching materials, the study model proves to be optimally interlinked. The opportunities for networking and the integration of practical experience into the degree programme were also particularly positively emphasised.
"The pleasing results in our degree programmes are a strong sign of the dedicated work of our teaching staff and the quality of our courses. The results show that our consistent focus on practical, student-centred teaching is bearing fruit," explains FHP president Prof. Dr. Eva Schmitt-Rodermund. "Especially in times of skills shortages in the construction and creative industries, the quality of education is crucial - and we believe we are on the right track here."
