Webinar: Stress management in everyday working life

On the 5th of November, 2025, the Brandenburg Specialist Unit for Archives and Public Libraries in Brandenburg hosted the webinar "Stress management in everyday working life". Anneke Wilken-Bober - a qualified social pedagogue, social worker, communication psychologist and nurse - spent three hours explaining the definition of stress, what types there are, what effects it can have on people and their health and taught both short-term and long-term methods of coping with stress.

While positive stress can create feelings of happiness and motivation, negative stress triggers mental and physical discomfort. Ms Wilken-Bober sensitised participants to listen to their own warning signals and identify them. In breakout sessions and exercises, she taught the participants how to recognise their own stressors, how to create personal moments of relaxation in everyday life and how to consciously defuse their own stressful situations.

37 colleagues from Brandenburg's archives and public libraries attended the training course.

We would like to thank all participants and especially Anneke Wilken-Bober for the successful and informative event.
