The feature deals with the realities of work in cultural production and understands precarious working conditions not as an exception, but as an expression of structural change. Passion often acts as a substitute for social security, while recognition, networks and symbolic gains take the place of traditional remuneration.
At the centre of the feature are perspectives from cultural producers - especially from areas that often remain invisible, although they are indispensable for the production and exploitation system in the cultural sector. At the same time, the project sheds light on forms of self-empowerment and solidarity-based practice as well as their ambivalences.
