Photo Exhibition of the 2025 Gender Award Winner at the Mexican Embassy
EMW graduate Natalie Popovic García's work, which was awarded the Gender Prize 2025, can be seen at the Mexican Embassy from the 5th of March, 2026.
In her documentary photography project, German-Mexican artist Natalie Popovic García investigates how women's gender-specific insecurities affect their choices in the public space of Mexico City.
Combining photography and interviews, she illuminates the thoughts, memories and decisions of pregnant Diana as she and her daughter Sofía walk through their neighbourhood.
The thesis in European Media Studies (EMW), which was awarded the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam Gender Prize, visualises the interplay of space and gender, in which insecurities, social structures, human experience and movement are mutually dependent.
