9th Brandenburg Day of Sustainable Planning and Building

We cordially invite you to the 9th Brandenburg Day of Sustainable Planning and Building, which this year has the motto "Simply Sustainable Building". The hybrid event will take place on 16 October 2025 at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (House D | Room 0.11) and via livestream.

Under the title "Simply sustainable building", this year's event is dedicated to the question of how sustainability can be anchored even more firmly in planning and construction through simplified procedures, clear structures and resource-saving construction methods. Together, we want to discuss practical ways in which "simple building" not only facilitates approval and construction processes, but also provides concrete answers to current challenges such as climate protection and resource conservation.

The day is being organised jointly by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Planning (MIL), the Brandenburg Chamber of Engineers (BBIK), the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects (BA) in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.

You will be welcomed by Detlef Tabbert, Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Planning, on behalf of the organisers and by Prof Dr Eva Schmitt-Rodermund, President of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.

Dipl.-Ing. Florian Dilg from the Building Type e Task Force of the Federal Chamber of Architects will introduce the topic with a keynote speech that will provide initial insights and food for thought. The topic of the event will then be examined and discussed from various perspectives as part of a panel discussion. The focus will then be on various aspects from an engineering and architectural perspective, such as simple, circular construction and simple conversion and refurbishment.

Prof. Dr Jörg Röder (FHP, Civil Engineering) will speak on the topic of "Future-oriented conversion".
