From Professorial Recruitment to University: Apply Now for the Advancement Scholarship

The advancement scholarship supports experienced professionals in their first university degree programme: full-time or part-time, regardless of income and without age limit. Applications are still possible until 1st of June 2026.

Prospective students and students with professional and practical experience can apply for the advancement scholarship until 1st of June 2026. Applications for funding for the first degree programme (e.g. bachelor's degree) are possible before the start of the degree programme and until the end of the second semester.

What is funded? A full-time degree programme is funded with 992.00 Euro per month plus 80.00 Euro book allowance (1,072.00 Euro in total). Part-time students receive 3,045.00 Euro per calendar year. In addition, there is a childcare allowance for children under 14 years of age (160 Euro for each child). The grant is a lump sum and completely independent of income.

The scholarship programme of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space supports a first university degree at a state or state-recognised university. Grant recipients are selected and supported by the Stiftung Begabtenförderung berufliche Bildung (SBB). Up to 1,500 scholarships can be awarded each year. There are currently around 5,000 grant recipients at over 300 universities in Germany.

Digital information event: SBB is offering a free digital information event on 14th of April 2026 from 6 to 7 pm - open to prospective students, students, employees of universities and student services as well as those interested in further education.

Studying at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam: The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam offers bachelor's degree programmes in the five Departments of Social and Educational Sciences, CITY | BUILDING | CULTURE, Civil Engineering, Design and Information Sciences.
