Workshop Impact Stories and Approaches to Evidencing Impact

In this workshop, the impact story approach will be presented using six cases from the reporting practice of the University of Leeds/UK. Participants can use the structure to develop their own cases into impact stories.

Transfer indicators, sustainability indicators, impact measurement – metrics are intended to provide empirical evidence on complex issues. They inform those involved about their performance or external stakeholders. However, indicators cannot always fulfil dynamic issues, their interactions and the requirements for validity.

Can storytelling be used in addition to or in contrast to indicators to make the effects of projects visible and comprehensible? The workshop will explore the role that a narrative description of reality can play in determining impact.

The seminar will be held in English.
