Use of Moodle Tests in Maths Teaching

The workshop will answer the following questions about the use of Moodle tests in maths teaching:

• Are multiple choice tests in maths useful at all?
• Moodle tests for exams or only for voluntary self-tests?
• Which question types (multiple choice, drag-and-drop, cloze text, ...) are useful for which maths tasks?

Participants are expected to have a basic understanding of maths.

About the speaker Prof Dr Rolf Socher:

• diploma in mathematics, doctorate in a subfield of artificial intelligence
• 1994 - 2006 Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer
• 2007 - 2022 Professor of Mathematics for Computer Scientists at the TH Brandenburg
• since summer semester 2023 Deputy Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam
