Film screening of "The Librarians" at the Thalia cinema Potsdam
Libraries are at the centre of social debates worldwide - and this is exactly where the award-winning documentary film "The Librarians" by Oscar-nominated director Kim A. Snyder comes in.
The Brandenburg State Office for Archives and Public Libraries invites the staff of Brandenburg's libraries to a film screening at the Thalia cinema in Potsdam.
The film sheds light on the escalating "book war" in Florida and Texas and impressively shows how librarians act as "first responders in the fight for democracy".
"The Librarians" was awarded the jury prize for best documentary film at the Dallas International Film Festival and the Sarasota Film Festival.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with experts and practitioners from public and academic libraries as well as local actors.
The film will be screened in the original English version.
Admission is free.
Due to the limited number of seats, participation is only possible after registration.
We will be happy to send you registration information on request.
