Projects of the Department of CITY | BUILDING | CULTURE

On behalf of the SPSG, students from the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam secured and restored the wallpaper from Villa Illaire in Sanssouci Park, which had fallen from the ceiling as a result of water damage. They also developed a plan for transferring it onto a new backing and for revealing the remaining traces of the paintings.

The collective consists of a group of students on the Bachelor's degree Architecture and Urban Design at the department of CITY | BUILDING | CULTURE at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, which organises events by and for students.

In the interdisciplinary project "PeP – Projekt elektronische Prüfung", digital examination formats are to be developed, used and evaluated for 12 digitised lectures in four departments at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.

Urban Space and Housing Types in the Young Metropolis, 1890–1940

The aim of the project is to develop methods for the effective decontamination of wooden cultural heritage objects contaminated with harmful substances. The aim is to develop methods that are gentle on the objects whilst also enabling a significant reduction in the use of biocides.

Design and research project work based on the planned urban neighbourhood "Das Neue Gartenfeld" in Berlin-Spandau – a real-life laboratory of urban innovation and an arena for social debate.

Modern thermoanalytical methods are used to analyse and study both historical and modern building materials and plastics, as well as in the recycling of building materials. Furthermore, the measurement system is suitable for use in the targeted development of new modern materials.
