The Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and the Institute for Continuing Education (Institut für Weiterbildung (IfW)) at the University of Applied Sciences Neurandenburg e.V. offer a "Case Management" continuing education course as part of the "Kompetenzverbund Nord" partnership.

The „Case Management“ continuing professional development programme begins in March 2023 and will run for one year. The course will teach practical methodological skills that facilitate a professional approach to current trends in cost minimisation and quality improvement in fields such as Social Work, employment support and healthcare. In doing so, case work in case management will be examined from multiple perspectives. From the perspective of case management, counselling techniques are taught and practised to help professionals identify the interests and wishes of clients or patients – not least to ensure the support process is appropriately structured and managed. The continuing professional development programme concludes with a university certificate.

“This collaboration is an effective example of how universities can work together in the field of continuing professional development to achieve maximum results for the benefit of the subject area and the participants,” explains Mustafa Turna, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. “The Case Management training programme will significantly advance participants’ personal development as well as their careers.” Silke Schwartz, Managing Director of the IfW, adds: “We have been offering this certified training programme in care and case management for 13 years in cooperation with our partners in the Kompetenzverbund Nord. Participants learn to consciously steer and methodically structure case work in complex cases in the best interests of clients. Care and case managers can make a significant contribution to organisational development. We are very much looking forward to collaborating with the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam at the FHP.
