Product design ideas competition for street furniture
11 students presented 22 designs for outdoor furniture in a student competition.
In this design seminar, smart and modular concepts were developed for the street furniture of tomorrow. The challenge was to design entire product families from easy-to-manufacture modules based on semi-finished products - from park benches and tables to bicycle racks and guidance systems. Sustainability was at the centre of this: we were looking for intelligent solutions for material selection, production and maintenance that make repairs and the replacement of components uncomplicated.
The seminar served as a special opportunity to prepare for the ideas competition organised by Wandel. Following the course, 22 great designs were presented as part of the competition.
The winners of the project were honoured:
- 1st prize: Noah Lietzkow - design ".lino."
- 2nd prize: Roei Niezni - design "Modular Urban Seating System"
- 3rd prize: Klara Schneider - design "Nobilis variable" and second 3rd prize: Ellen Schleyer - design "link."'
