As part of the VEStOR project (networking, expanding and strengthening the OER community OpenRewi), OpenRewi e. V., the only community for open legal educational materials in law to date, is being expanded and strengthened. Networking with other OER communities is also being promoted.

The project is being implemented as a joint project at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam by Prof. Dr. Ellen Euler as scientific director in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Nikolas Eisentraut as a joint partner from Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH).  At the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (FHP), the focus is on professionalising the organisation and expanding the infrastructure and service offerings. The structure of OpenRewi is to be optimised through a comprehensive organisational and process analysis. The long-term goal is to develop business models for the sustainable financing and provision of services and offerings, including the establishment of a joint office with other stakeholders in the OER sector.
There is also a particular focus on developing a visual identity and communication strategy for targeted science communication. This is to take place both via social networks and on site at law faculties or at conferences in the DACH region.
The project is aimed at the entire legal community in Germany and aims to establish OpenRewi as a central cross-university network for the publication of open, quality-assured teaching and learning materials in law. Through an inclusive forum for Open Educational Practices (OEP), the dissemination of OER in law is to be promoted across the board in order to make a broadly effective contribution to the realisation of a sustainable OER-promoting ecosystem in digital education.

The VEStOR project is being implemented as part of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's (BMBF) guideline for funding projects to strengthen, expand and network OER communities. It is being carried out in close cooperation with the national OER community centre and the OpenRewi e. V. association.
