University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in 2nd place in the Digital Campus Index 2026
The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is one of the top three universities in Germany in the current Digital Campus Index 2026. The university was recognised as second best for its outstanding digital maturity and its particularly user-friendly digital services for students.
The Digital Campus Index recognises universities that excel in the area of digitalisation and digital study conditions. The evaluation was based on a comprehensive student survey within UniNow GmbH's campus apps, in which more than 18,500 students took part. A total of 179 universities took part and their students were surveyed between October and December 2025. The methodology was based on the established D21 Digital Index and enabled a well-founded, comparable assessment of the digital performance of universities from a student perspective.
The index was made up of four equally weighted dimensions: Basic attitude towards digitalisation, digital competence, use of digital offerings and access to digital services. Each university was given an overall score on a scale of 0 to 100, which enabled a transparent classification.
"Second place confirms our consistent approach of further developing digital offerings in a student-centred way and improving everyday university life in the long term. We see digitalisation not only as technical modernisation, but also as a cultural transformation process that affects teaching, administration and communication in equal measure. We are particularly pleased that this development is perceived and evaluated so positively by the students. This result is both recognition and an incentive for us to continuously expand the digital services of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and to align them even more closely with the needs of students," explains Prof. Constanze Langer, Vice-President for Digitalisation and International Affairs at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.
The award ceremony took place as part of the Digital Campus 2026 university conference, which was held in Magdeburg on 7 and 8 May 2026. There, the most successful universities were officially honoured and their achievements in the field of digitalisation were made visible.
