Workshop on Sustainable Management (using the FHP as an example)
The course, led by expert Meike Ortmanns, explores how organisations can contribute to the sustainable development of society and how change processes can be shaped within a company, an Administration body or a university.
The workshop focuses on the objectives and tools of sustainability management within organisations. It addresses socio-ecological transformation, key players and stakeholders, the development of strategies and the implementation of measures – and the people within the organisation. Finally, participants will turn their attention to the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (FHP) as a practical example of an institution on its path to becoming a sustainable university. Drawing on their own experiences at FHP, participants will identify areas for improvement. Working in small groups, they will develop measures and plan their implementation.
Workshop leader:
Meike Ortmanns is a Sustainability Management Advisor at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. During her studies in psychology and Urban Futures, she explored transformation processes at individual, organisational and regional levels. She subsequently worked on a research project on the mobility transition in Berlin-Brandenburg and as an advisor to the Vice-President for Sustainability at the Technical University of Berlin.
