Chill out! Calm and Confident in Job Interviews

First impressions are often the deciding factor. This also applies to job interviews. Especially when it's the first one, nervousness can be quite high. In the online workshop with psychologist Lydia Hänel, participants learn how to prepare for a relaxed job interview.

When the letter of application is followed by an invitation to a personal interview, the excitement is usually just as great as the desire to present yourself at your best. In cooperation with the University of Potsdam's Matching Day, students and graduates have the opportunity to prepare themselves mentally and rhetorically for job meetings and interviews in the online course.

On Matching Day, regional employers meet students, graduates, doctoral students and postdocs from all subject areas for 20-minute online interviews. Registration is required: Students can register here.

Psychologist and mindfulness trainer Lydia Hänel will help participants to consciously shape their own first impression through self-reflection, group discussions, interactive exercises and various tips and tricks. They will learn how to remain calm and confident despite excitement, how to be convincing with their own language and how to develop strategies to stay calm before and during the interview. No matter whether at the Matching Day or in future job interviews!

The online event is a free offer from the University of Potsdam in cooperation with the career entry programme Work@Heart and will be held via Zoom. Registration for the workshop via direct booking link or by e-mail: 360gradzukunft@fh-potsdam.de. The link will be sent after successful registration.
