Facades without fossils
- Klaus Pistol (Projektleiter/-in)

The research being carried out by PhD student Janis Moye (FHP) into mortar formulations based on alkaline-activated binders holds great potential for developing construction products using an alternative to concrete with minimal greenhouse gas emissions. Significant progress is expected for the doctoral thesis through the joint project with the company Baugruppe NORD GbR.
In the first phase, the aim is to develop a shingle-like building product for façade and roof cladding.
The project involves the manufacture of prefabricated components in the laboratory at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, which will then be tested collectively on an experimental façade constructed by the company. This is intended to serve as the first feasibility study for an innovative building product, with the aim of demonstrating its practical viability.
