Scholarship programme: Leaders in Entrepreneurship
In summer 2026, engineering students will have the opportunity to gain practical insights into the corporate culture of the USA as part of a fully-funded scholarship from the Fulbright Germany Commission. The application deadline is the 4th of March, 2026.
The study programme at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University ("Virginia Tech") for bachelor's students in technology and engineering will take place from the 21st of August to the 12th of September, 2026. Participants can expect an introduction to the topic of entrepreneurship from a technical and engineering perspective. In direct exchange with American university lecturers and students, the scholarship holders gain direct insights into business and engineering studies and everyday life at a renowned American research university.
The programme is aimed at high-achieving, outstanding students who want to contribute to academic and cultural exchange between Germany and the USA through their commitment.
These are the requirements
- German citizenship (at the time of the application deadline)
- Enrolment in a Bachelor's degree programme in technology or engineering at a state-recognised German university or university of applied sciences
- Good to very good previous academic qualifications (grades)
- Good to very good English language skills, at least C1 (no proof required)
- Conclusive professional goal orientation for participation in the programme
- Willingness to assume social responsibility
- Motivation to work for German-American understanding
- Active interests/commitment outside of your studies
- no Fulbright scholarship in the last five years
- German passport valid until at least the 13th of December, 2026
