Project report "Youth. Lake. Party!" published

© Franziska Lorenz

In June 2025, students at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (Bachelor of the Social Work (BA) degree programme) worked intensively on current social phenomena in youth work in rural areas. The focus was on the question of how young people in public spaces can be involved in shaping their living environment. The participation of children and young people is an important aspect of their opinion-forming and democratisation process.

An event in the municipality of Wandlitz was used as an example to test what role youth work can play in this field and what tasks it can fulfil. Thanks to the support of the municipality of Wandlitz and its youth organisations, it was possible to closely interlink theory and practice.

The students developed recommendations for further work on current youth social phenomena such as addiction, right-wing extremism and future orientation.

You can find the project report in the appendix.
