Obituary for Christa Heinrich
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Christa Heinrich, who played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam for many years. Her death has left a huge void in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to work with her.
Christa Heinrich recognised the importance of continuing education as an essential component of lifelong learning early on and was exceptionally passionate about developing innovative and practical programmes. Under her leadership, the Centre for Continuing Education became a central hub for professional training and personal development that was recognised far beyond the borders of Brandenburg.
With her open, warm manner and her unshakeable belief in the power of education, Christa Heinrich inspired many colleagues. She was not only a competent superior, but also a mentor and supporter who always had an open ear for ideas, concerns and people.
The successes of the Centre for Continuing Education under her leadership speak for themselves: she initiated numerous collaborations with external partners, promoted innovative projects and made a decisive contribution to establishing the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in the continuing education landscape and making it visible and influential. Christa Heinrich leaves behind a legacy that will always remind us how important it is to shape education with passion, openness and dedication. We will remember her as an inspiring force whose work will leave a lasting mark.
Our thoughts are with her family and all those who were close to her. We wish them strength and comfort in these difficult times. The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam will honour Christa Heinrich's memory and continue her achievements in the Centre for Continuing Education.
With gratitude and sympathy
