Discover the Campus, Shape the future − Open Day at the FH Potsdam
The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is opening its doors on Saturday, the 24th of May 2025, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and invites all interested parties to experience the university up close − lively, inspiring and practical. Whether pupils, high school graduates, parents or simply curious people from the region: the open day offers the opportunity to get to know everyday life as a student and the wide range of study programmes on offer and to take a look behind the scenes of a modern university.
Whether Bachelor's or Master's, full-time, dual or part-time − the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam offers degree programmes in five departments that guarantee a modern, practice-oriented and academically sound education and prepare students specifically for the demands of a dynamically changing society and working world.
FHP President Prof. Dr Eva Schmitt-Rodermund: "At the Open Day, prospective students have the opportunity to experience first-hand how application-oriented and creative work is carried out at our university. We offer numerous insights into our diverse degree programmes and also provide the opportunity to visit our workshops, laboratories and studios − places where innovation and practice meet."
Hands-on study − and experience
What does an architectural model look like up close? How are materials tested in civil engineering? How do students learn to effectively support children in their development? What makes the difference between theory and practice? These and other questions will be answered on the day. If you like, you can try things out and take part in a creative workshop in the social and educational sciences, for example, test how a Leonardo bridge works or find out how knowledge is organised digitally. Teachers and students will present their degree programmes in short talks and open discussion rounds − directly and personally. This allows you to find out which degree programme best suits your own ideas and interests.
Advice, orientation and personal insights
Whether choosing a degree programme, applying, BAföG or a stay abroad during your studies: the Central Student Advisory Service, Studierendenwerk Potsdam and the International Office, among others, provide individual advice at numerous information stands.
Campus tours, hands-on activities and favourite places
During the guided tours of the campus and through the laboratories and workshops, you can discover the FH Potsdam as a place of learning and living: with insights into ongoing projects, creative hands-on activities and real favourite places, such as the self-managed cultural centre Casino or the communally maintained campus garden.
If you want to recharge your batteries or simply take a deep breath, you can take part in one of the two open yoga classes offered by Yoga Gold − free, uncomplicated and suitable for all levels. For younger guests, there is a colourful children's programme with the FAMteam. A special souvenir can be snapped at the photo station.
Participation in the open day is free of charge and possible without prior registration. The canteen and COFFEE NERDS will be open to provide refreshments.
