Testing Transdisciplinary Tools – ttt & friends: Finding Solutions Together & Developing New Perspectives
Peer consultation as a method in transdisciplinary research practice
Guest speaker: Dr Reinhard Lang, research assistant on the InNoWest project, University of Applied Sciences Potsdam
Peer counselling, or peer case consultation, is a counselling session within a self-organised group of members on an equal footing. The aim of the consultation is to develop solutions for a specific case or a related problem. To this end, the group advises the person presenting the case using a structured approach and defined roles. The different perspectives of the group members allow problems to be viewed and assessed in a new light, enabling the group to develop a concrete solution together.
In our „ttt & friends“ session, we will provide a concise introduction to the peer consultation method and its process, and try it out together. To this end, our guest, Dr Reinhard Lang, will present a specific case from his own practice as the case presenter, which we will discuss as a group using the practical knowledge available within the group. We, the Knowledge Transfer Team, will facilitate the peer consultation and guide participants through the various stages of the consultation process towards developing a solution. After the exercise, we invite you to share your experiences of peer consultation, both from the workshop and from your professional practice in transdisciplinary research projects.
