Forces that Characterise Polish Cities: From Post-War Reconstruction to Modern Urban Development

This lecture examines the development of Polish urban thinking from post-war reconstruction to modern urban development, highlighting the factors that have shaped the spatial growth of Polish cities.
Using selected case studies and previous research on architectural transformation in Poland, the lecture will analyse how successive political, economic and social forces have shaped Polish cities and how these experiences contribute to the wider European debates on urban development.
