The City Within the City - Image or Model?
Presentation/Lecture
The knowledge of architects has repeatedly proven to be the knowledge to become involved in cities and to demand a sovereignty of interpretation in the transformation of cities. As a result of social changes, concepts such as functionality, economic efficiency, sustainability, identity, community and urbanity are replacing each other, meaning that the city is eluding the well-meaning grasp of architecture.
So what could be more tempting for architects than to develop an urban model that will serve as a guideline for at least a few decades?
