Call for Papers: emPower - Research and development perspectives on the empowerment of educationally disadvantaged students
Call for Papers for the kick-off and junior researcher conference of the BMBF-funded project "PowerMii: Empowerment research groups for girls with a migration background for empowering biography work in vocational schools". This conference offers a forum for the exchange of scientific findings and practical approaches to support, strengthen and empower pupils with special educational needs.
The Call for Papers is aimed at researchers from social and educational science disciplines (social sciences, educational sciences, social work, psychology, etc.) whose research work can be localised in the following subject areas:
- Educational research: Design and implementation of equal opportunities for disadvantaged pupils
- Flight*migration: Supporting and strengthening pupils with a migration background and experience of flight
- Gender: Specific challenges and potentials of girls and young women with a migration background in the education system
- Education, school and teaching research: development of school and teaching programmes for educationally disadvantaged young people
- Empowerment: Promotion of self-efficacy, life management skills and educational participation of pupils
Submission of contributions:
- Individual contributions for the 20th of November: Presentation in thematic panels (15 - 20 minutes), followed by in-depth discussions and exchange.
- Qualification papers for the 21st of November: Presentation in a 20-minute contribution, followed by reflection and further thinking in methodical discussion rounds with experts.
Please send a short presentation (max. 300 words) to powermii@fh-potsdam.de by the 15th of October 2025. Please indicate whether your contribution is scheduled for the 20th of November (individual contribution) or the 21st of November (qualification day). Feedback on the submitted contributions will be provided by the 22nd of October 2025.
