‘Right up close!’ – 9th European Day of Restoration
With the FHP Mobil, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam will present its Conservation and Restoration degree programme on the 18th of October: with historic craft techniques, current research projects and personal study advice.
On the European Day of Restoration, restorers across Europe present their work. Interested visitors have the opportunity to experience case studies of current conservation and restoration projects first-hand in studios and on building sites. This year’s motto for the 9th Day of Restoration is: ‘Right up close!’
The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam will show in front of and inside the Bode-Museum how diverse this professional field is. The Conservation and Restoration degree programme will present its three specialisms: wood, stone and wall painting. Students will demonstrate veneer gluing, retouching techniques and wickerwork, among other things. There will also be insights into current research projects, information material and personal study advice. The event is aimed in particular at young people who are exploring career options.
