StudiPortal Brandenburg

The StudiPortal Brandenburg project is funded by the Ministry of Economics, Research and Culture and aims to strategically combine the online and on-site services of eight higher education institutions in Brandenburg in order to increase the visibility of the study programmes on offer at national and international level.

This project is funded by the European Social Fund and the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg.

As part of the joint project, the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is developing an online mathematics test for prospective students and a self-study course called "Brückenkurs Mathematik". The online test gives prospective and first-year students the opportunity to check their current knowledge of mathematics and to compare their level of knowledge in relation to the field of civil engineering. Detailed feedback provides clarity about any gaps that may exist.

The bridge course then offers, bundled and in one hand, individually tailored learning opportunities to close these gaps in order to start studying with a good foundation. The online format specifically supports the need for individual learning arrangements that are independent of time and place, as required by a heterogeneous student body. On the other hand, this offer can also be used during the degree programme if students only realise during the lecture that they need to catch up in mathematics.
