dpi Lab: Digital Participation and Inclusion Lab

The dpi-lab was installed in May 2020 at the Department of Social and Educational Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam to bundle the various research activities at the interface of digital technologies, social work and educational science.

The focus is on a socially (scientifically) informed view of technologies and their community and social contextualisation. The aim of the projects located in the dpi is the scientific and application-oriented elaboration of the potential of digital media for processes of participation and inclusion in the fields of social work and childhood education. This includes research into creative work and educational aspects as well as questions of digitally mediated participation, democracy education and media psychology. Attention is also paid to the transfer of scientific findings into the practice of educational, cultural and social work.

The projects of the dpi-lab are integrated into the interdisciplinary cooperation of the departments at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and include student and doctoral qualification.
